It all starteD…

In 1984, while attending the University of Georgia, the youngest of the Perno brothers, John, was going to attend his girlfriend's sorority formal. He found himself in need of a tuxedo shirt, bow tie, cummerbund, studs, and cufflinks. John recruited help from his older brother, and they headed downtown to Kennon's Formal Wear. When they saw the line out the door and around the building, they had an idea. That Sunday night at their family supper, Perno's Formal Wear was founded. 

The original logo of a man in a top hat was scribbled on a napkin by John's girlfriend, now wife of 25 years. The rest is history.
